Ever had the need to just listen to something right now?

With Spotify URI’s, this is totally possible, just create a shortcut with the Spotify URI and you’re one click away from listening to your favourite MONO, The Killers or whatever floats your boat track!

Here’s a simple tutorial on how to do it.

Bear in mind, this guide is made in Windows 7 and will probably look differently in other operative systems and probably not work in Linux without some tweaking^{[citation needed]}.

1. Launch Spotify and find your artist and track

2. Right-click (control click if you’re on mac) and choose Copy Spotify URI:

3. On your desktop or in a folder, right-click on a blank area and choose New > Shortcut:

4. Paste the Spotify URI into “Location” in the wizard that pops up:

5. Name it.

6. Click Finish and you’ll have your new awesome Spotify shortcut for those moments you really need your instant fix
